Collecting and safety

You are responsible for following the rules where you collect. Collecting is not allowed in national parks, public lands have limits and closed areas, and private land needs the owner's permission. Wear eye protection when you break or scratch rocks, stay out of old mines and never taste an unknown mineral.

We check facts against the sources named on each page and date every price, but sources change and specimens vary. We cannot promise that everything is current or error free. If you spot a mistake, please email us.
